The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate to support research led by Prof. Amit Garg, National Investment & Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) Chair in Environment, Social & Corporate Governance (ESG).

Position Details

• Experience: Freshers and candidates with up to 2 years of experience

Educational Qualification

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Economics, such as:

• MA Economics

• MA (Honours) in Economics

• MSc Economics

Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Python, R and Excel is desirable.

A basic understanding of ESG, climate change or sustainable finance will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate will contribute to:

• Quantitative and economic analysis

• Statistical modelling and AI-based research/training using R, Python and Excel

• ESG-related research and data analysis

• Analysis of climate-related financial disclosures, including:

  • ESG

  • BRSR

  • TCFD

  • SASB

  • SFDR

• Supporting Indian funds and companies in aligning with international sustainability frameworks

• Conducting literature reviews on climate policy, climate-related financial disclosures and sustainable finance

• Secondary data collection, cleaning and analysis, including large datasets

• Supporting capacity-building workshops and training modules on ESG and climate reporting

• Preparing research reports and papers for publication

• Supporting project administration and institutional coordination
