The Indian Institute of Information Technology Nagpur (IIIT Nagpur) has invited applications for the position of Project Associate-I (PA-I) under the ANRF-PAIR funded project titled “ANRF PAIR IITB HUB.”

The selected candidate will work on research involving Industry 4.0, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence and crowd-surveillance technologies.

Problem Statement

“Audio Sensitive Visio-Acoustic Anomaly Detection for Crowd Surveillance”

The research will focus on developing intelligent techniques for detecting anomalous events in crowd environments using audio-visual information and AI-based signal processing approaches.

Project Investigators

The project team includes:

• Dr. Mayur Parate

• Dr. Tausif Diwan

• Dr. Nikhil Agrawal

• Dr. Parul Sahare

Project Duration and Tenure

The overall project duration is 48 months.

The Project Associate-I appointment will initially be for 12 months and may be extended up to the duration of the project based on satisfactory performance.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Continuation will depend on project requirements and performance.

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• Four-year B.E./B.Tech. degree in Computer Science or allied branches/disciplines

Candidates should also have qualified in an applicable National Eligibility Test / Examination, such as:

• GATE

• CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship

• National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments, agencies or institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, ICAR, ICMR, IITs, IISc, IISERs and other recognised bodies, as applicable under ANRF guidelines

Desired Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Programming skills in MATLAB and/or Python

• Knowledge of Operating Systems

• Parallel and Distributed Computing

• Computer Networks

• Ability to work effectively in a team

• Good communication skills

Selection and Appointment

The appointment will be made according to the eligibility requirements prescribed under the ANRF-PAIR project and applicable ANRF manpower guidelines.
