The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam (IIIT Kottayam) has invited applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a time-bound research project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Project Title

“Pedestrian risk analytics and yield-aware Intelligent road-networks for safer urban mobility in India”

Funding Agency

Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant Scheme (PM ECRG).

Fellowship

First and Second Year:
INR 37,000 per month + 10% HRA

Third Year:
INR 42,000 per month + 10% HRA

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess a postgraduate degree in Science or Engineering, such as:

• M.E. / M.Tech.

• M.Sc. / M.S.

• MCA

The qualification should be in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Candidates should have a minimum of:

• 65% marks, or

• 7.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale

Required Domain Expertise

Candidates should preferably possess:

• Strong expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Computer Vision

• Proficiency in object detection and video analytics

• Experience with sensor integration

• Knowledge of motion and temporal analysis

• Understanding of Intelligent Transportation Systems

• Knowledge of pedestrian analytics

• Experience in traffic-risk assessment or road-safety applications

• Strong Python programming skills

• Experience with deep-learning frameworks

• Dataset preparation, model training and evaluation skills

• Familiarity with project management

• Technical documentation and reporting skills

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will be for 36 months and will be co-terminus with the duration of the research project.

Continuation will be subject to the candidate’s satisfactory performance in each semester.
