Project Title

Development of Compact Thermo-Electric Generator Integrated PEM Electrolyser for Onboard Hydrogen Production for Co-firing in Compression Ignition Engine: A Hybrid Approach

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess:

  • B.E./B.Tech with M.E./M.Tech or equivalent

  • Mechanical Engineering or allied disciplines relevant to the project

  • First Class throughout academic career

Age Limit

  • Maximum 35 years

  • Age relaxation applicable for OBC, SC, ST, and Women candidates as per norms

Preference

  • GATE/NET qualified candidates will be preferred

Desirable Skills

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be given preference:

  • Fabrication techniques

  • Thermodynamic modelling

  • Simulation and analysis

  • ANSYS

  • COMSOL

  • MATLAB

  • Hydrogen and fuel cell technologies

About the Project

The research aims to develop a compact thermo-electric generator integrated with a PEM electrolyser for onboard hydrogen production. The generated hydrogen will be utilized for co-firing in compression ignition engines to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, supporting India's clean energy and National Green Hydrogen Mission objectives.
