The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) invites applications for Research Associate, Research Assistant and Field Investigator positions under an ICSSR-sponsored research project on a contractual basis.

The project explores the potential of Retail CBDC (e-rupee) in addressing informal credit challenges faced by micro-entrepreneurs in Prayagraj.

Project Title

“Bridging the Informal Credit Gap: Feasibility of Retail CBDC (E-rupee) as Reputational Collateral for Micro-Entrepreneur in Prayagraj”

Positions Available

1. Research Associate

• Duration: 6 months, extendable up to 1 year based on performance

• Salary: INR 47,000 per month (Fixed)

• HRA: Not admissible

Qualification:

• Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline with minimum 55% marks

• NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D.

• At least 2 years of research experience

2. Research Assistant

• Duration: 6 months, extendable up to 1 year based on performance

• Salary: INR 37,000 per month (Fixed)

• HRA: Not admissible

Qualification:

• Postgraduate degree in any Social Science discipline with minimum 55% marks

• Preference will be given to candidates with NET / M.Phil. / Ph.D.

3. Field Investigator

• Duration: 6 months, extendable up to 1 year based on performance

• Salary: INR 20,000 per month (Fixed)

• HRA: Not admissible

Qualification:

• Graduate degree in any Social Science discipline with minimum 55% marks

• Preference will be given to candidates with a four-year undergraduate programme

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Proficiency in English and Hindi

• Ability to work with digital data analysis and text analytics software

• Ability to perform target-based web crawling

• Willingness to travel for data collection and analysis

Selection Process

The interview is tentatively scheduled for September 2026.
