Project Details
Project Title: Leveraging Wild Rice Genetic Resources to Identify and Characterize Genomic Loci Conferring Anaerobic Germination Tolerance, Early Seedling vigor, and Root plasticity for Adaptation to Dry Direct Seeding in Rice.
Funding Agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT)
Duration of Tenure: One year from the date of appointment, or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
Fellowship & Emoluments
Stipend: INR 42,000/- + 27% HRA per month (Fixed)
Eligibility Criteria
1. Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in:
Life Sciences / Biochemistry / Plant Physiology / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology OR any other related field.
Experience: Minimum of two (02) years of research experience is mandatory.
2. National-Level Examination Requirements
Candidates must have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) / GATE / DST_INSPIRE, or meet the norms/guidelines prescribed in the DST OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26-06-2023, which require:
A Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course selected through a process described by any one of the following:
Scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET and GATE.
Selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc.
3. Key Preferences
Preference will be given to candidates with an exceptional academic track record, specifically those with a minimum of 60% marks throughout their academic career.
