Walk-In-Interview: JRF & YP-II Recruitment 2026 at ICAR-IARI
The Division of Biochemistry at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi, is inviting applications for a walk-in-interview to recruit research fellows. The recruitment is for a project under the Global Centre of Excellence (GCoE) on Millets. These positions are purely on a temporary and contractual basis, co-terminus with the project.
Project Details
Project Title: "Omics-based Interventions for Characterizing the Pearl Millet Genotypes for Rancidity and Development of Nutri-Rich Processed Products with Improved Bioavailability, and Shelf-Life" (GCoE on Millets 12-258 TG3361).
Project Duration: Currently approved up to 31.03.2027, with the possibility of further extension.
1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of Vacancies: 01 (One Post).
Remuneration: Rs. 31,000/- per month + HRA @ 27% for the 1st and 2nd year, and Rs. 35,000/- per month + HRA @ 27% for the 3rd year (as per ICAR norms).
Essential Qualifications: A Post Graduate Degree (M. Sc.) in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Plant Physiology from a recognized institution with a 4/5 years Bachelor's degree. Candidates possessing a 3 years Bachelor's degree and a 2 years Master's degree are required to have NET qualification.
Desirable Experience: Experience in gene cloning and characterization, heterologous expression of genes, basic biochemical techniques, and handling instruments used in metabolomics.
2. Young Professional-II (YP-II)
Number of Vacancies: 01 (One Post).
Remuneration: Rs. 42,000/- per month (consolidated).
Essential Qualifications: A Post Graduate Degree (M. Sc.) in Plant Biochemistry, Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Environmental Science, or Bioinformatics.
Desirable Experience: Experience in gene cloning and characterization, heterologous expression of genes, biochemical techniques, and Omics data characterization.
Eligibility and Age Limit
Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 35 years as on the date of the interview. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST/women candidates is applicable as per government guidelines.
NOC: A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required if the candidate is already working.

Date of Interview: 08th May 2026.
Mode of Interview: In-person.
Required Documents: Candidates must bring two copies of the application format (Annexure 1), a copy of their biodata with a recently attested passport-size photograph, and duly attested certificates for 10th,12th, Under-graduation, Post-graduation, Ph.D., NET/GATE, and other relevant certificates.
