The Division of Genetics and Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Research Associate (RA) under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT)-funded research project. The position is purely contractual and offers an excellent opportunity for researchers working in plant genetics, molecular breeding, and crop improvement.

Research Associate (RA)

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences

OR

• M.Tech. (Life Sciences) with:

  • Minimum 3 years of research, teaching, or design & development experience

  • At least one research publication in an SCI-indexed journal

(As per DST Office Memorandum No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26-07-2023)

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Molecular markers and marker-assisted breeding

• Field phenotyping

• Handling and evaluation of field rice crops

• Plant breeding and genetics research

Terms & Conditions

• Maximum age limit for Research Associate: 40 years

• Age relaxation:

  • 5 years for SC/ST and Women candidates

  • 3 years for OBC candidates

• The position is purely temporary and contractual.

• Appointment will initially be up to 31 March 2027, extendable periodically based on performance and project requirements.

• The selected candidate will not have any claim for regular appointment at the institute.

• Only candidates meeting the essential qualifications will be considered for the interview.
