ICAR-IARI SRF Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for Senior Research Fellow Positions in Genetics Division

The Division of Genetics, ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, has announced a walk-in interview for the recruitment of two Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions under an ICAR-funded research project. The positions are purely temporary, unreserved, and co-terminus with the project.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend the walk-in interview scheduled for 30 June 2026 at the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

Option 1

  • Master's Degree in:

    • Genetics

    • Plant Breeding

    • Genetics and Plant Breeding

    • Biotechnology

    • Life Sciences

    • Other allied disciplines

AND

  • Four/Five years of Bachelor's Degree.

Option 2

Candidates having:

  • Postgraduate Degree in Basic Sciences

  • Three years Bachelor's Degree

  • Two years Master's Degree

must additionally possess:

  • NET Qualification or

  • GATE Qualification

along with two years of research experience as per the prescribed Government of India and DST guidelines.


Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having research experience in:

  • Marker Designing

  • PCR Assays

  • Marker-Assisted Selection

  • Gene Expression Analysis

  • Pollination and Evaluation of Maize Genotypes

  • Phenotypic Characterization

  • Molecular Breeding Techniques

  • Crop Improvement Research


Job Responsibilities

The selected candidates will contribute to research activities related to:

  • Molecular breeding in maize

  • Development of stress-tolerant crop varieties

  • Improvement of yield and quality traits

  • Molecular marker analysis

  • Genetic evaluation and characterization of germplasm

  • Laboratory and field-based research experiments
