The department is seeking an exceptional postdoctoral researcher to advance policy-relevant research on the U.S. energy system through open-source modeling, collaborative research, and data-driven analysis.
Project Overview
The selected researcher will play a central role in:
Developing and enhancing Tools for Energy Model Optimization and Analysis (Temoa), a widely used open-source energy systems optimization framework.
Contributing to the Open Energy Outlook, an initiative designed to provide transparent, scenario-based insights into the long-term evolution of the U.S. energy system.
Conducting rigorous model-based research to support sustainable and evidence-based energy policy.
The project sits at the intersection of energy systems modeling, open science, and public policy.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Conduct high-impact research on energy systems modeling and policy analysis.
Develop, improve, and maintain the Temoa open-source optimization framework.
