The selected postdoctoral researcher will join Marc De Graef’s research group and work on developing advanced techniques for defect characterization in solids using experimental and computational tools.

Research Focus
The role involves advanced materials characterization using tools available in the Materials Characterization Facility. The selected candidate will contribute to research on identifying, analysing and understanding defects in solid materials.
Core Responsibilities
The selected candidate will work with advanced microscopy and characterization techniques, including:
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) modalities
Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD)
Electron Channeling Contrast Imaging (ECCI)
Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) modalities
Conventional imaging and diffraction
STEM Diffraction Contrast Imaging
Computational and experimental defect characterization methods
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with strong expertise in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
