The Department of Biological Sciences, BITS Pilani – Hyderabad Campus invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a DRDO-LSRB sponsored research project. The position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in pursuing a Ph.D. at BITS Pilani while working on advanced research in microbiology, molecular biology, gut microbiota, and intestinal organoid systems.

Project Title

Establishment of Intestinal Organoid Model to Decipher the Functional Significance of Host Gut Microbiota Derived Bile Acids in Conferring Protection Against Radiation-Induced Intestinal Stem Cell Damage Impacting Barrier Integrity


Fellowship

INR 37,000 per month + 30% HRA

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

  • M.Tech./M.E./M.Pharm./M.Sc. (1st Class) in:

    • Biochemistry

    • Life Sciences

    • Biological Sciences

    • Related disciplines

Additionally:

  • Valid GPAT/GATE/NET qualification.

Candidates with the following fellowships are also encouraged to apply:

  • CSIR-UGC JRF

  • DBT-JRF

  • INSPIRE Fellowship


Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Cell Culture Techniques

  • Molecular Biology

  • Biochemistry Techniques

  • Imaging Techniques

  • Mouse Handling

  • Bioinformatics Tools and Data Analysis

  • Fluorescence Microscopy

  • Confocal Microscopy


Ph.D. Opportunity

The position is designed to lead to Ph.D. registration at BITS Pilani, subject to satisfactory performance and fulfillment of institute requirements.

Candidates holding external fellowships are encouraged to contact the Principal Investigator regarding additional research opportunities that can support Ph.D. enrollment.
