BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded research project in the Department of Chemistry. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on computational materials research with the possibility of registering for a Ph.D. at BITS Pilani, subject to institute norms.

Position Details

Project Title

In-Silico Discovery of Highly Conducting Conjugated Polymers

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry with specialization in Physical Chemistry or Computational Chemistry
  OR

• M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Engineering with a valid GATE score.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Good knowledge of Computational Chemistry

• Quantum Chemistry

• Materials Chemistry

• Solid State Physics

• Experience with computational chemistry software

• Programming skills relevant to computational research

Fellowship & Benefits

• Fellowship of INR 37,000 per month + 30% HRA

• Opportunity to work on an ANRF-funded research project

• Exposure to advanced computational materials research

• Selected candidate may be permitted to register for the Ph.D. programme at BITS Pilani, subject to fulfilling institute requirements

Selection Process

• Applications will be shortlisted based on eligibility and research profile.

• Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview.

• Interviews are tentatively scheduled during the 4th/5th week of July 2026.

• The project duration is 3 years.

• Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply at the earliest.

• Registration for the BITS Pilani Ph.D. programme may be permitted based on institute regulations and eligibility requirements.
