The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, BITS Mesra, has invited applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) – Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) funded research project.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in advanced research in sustainable construction materials, thermal energy storage, and concentrated solar power technologies.

Position Details

Project Title

Engineered Concrete as a Solid-State Thermal Battery for Next-Generation Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Plant

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess a completed Postgraduate Degree in:

• Civil Engineering

• Structural Engineering

• Material Science

• Mechanical Engineering

• Chemistry

from a recognized university/institute with a valid NET/GATE qualification.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having exposure to:

• Experimental studies on cement and geopolymer concrete

• Molecular dynamics simulations

• Finite Element Modeling using Abaqus

• MATLAB programming

• Related research areas in construction materials and structural engineering

Selected candidates will be strongly encouraged to enroll in a Ph.D. programme and pursue doctoral research.

Fellowship

• 1st & 2nd Year: INR 37,000 per month + 20% HRA

• 3rd Year: INR 42,000 per month + 20% HRA
