JRF Vacancy in Cytogenetics Laboratory, Department of Zoology

Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi has invited applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a BRNS, DAE funded research project in the Cytogenetics Laboratory, Department of Zoology.

Project Title

“Understanding the genetic basis of congenital cardiac septal defects and identification of diagnostic and therapeutic markers in patients and in their mothers”

The project is being supervised by:

• Dr. Richa Arya

• Prof. Bhagyalaxmi Mohapatra

Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

• M.Sc. with at least 55% marks in:

  • Human Genetics

  • Life Science

  • Biochemistry

  • Biotechnology

  • Zoology

  • OR equivalent discipline

AND

• Qualification in:

  • CSIR-UGC NET

  • GATE

  • OR any equivalent National Level Test

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

• Genetics

• Molecular Biology

• Cardiology research

• DNA & RNA sequencing

• Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques
