The Department of Entomology & Agricultural Zoology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, invites applications for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a sponsored research project focused on pest management in brinjal crops.

About the Project

The JRF position is available under the K. R. Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd. sponsored research project titled:

“Bio-efficacy of Thiodicarb 50% + Chlorfenapyr 16% WDG against shoot and fruit borer (Leucinodes orbonalis) and thrips pests and its phytotoxicity on brinjal crop.”

The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Fellowship

• Monthly Fellowship: INR 30,000 per month

• Project Duration: Up to 10 months

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology or Zoology with specialization in Entomology

• Minimum 55% marks

• Qualified ASRB/UGC/CSIR-NET

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 32 years

• Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per Government of India norms

• Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates as per GOI rules

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Conducting field trials

• Insect data collection

• Data analysis

• Molecular techniques
