Research Associate Vacancy under IKS-Funded Research Project

The Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, has invited applications for the post of Research Associate under an Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Ministry of Education, Government of India funded research project.

Eligible Indian nationals interested in research related to Ancient Indian History, Sanskrit texts, and Purāṇic traditions can apply for this temporary position.

Vacancy Details

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• Ph.D. in:

  • Ancient Indian History

  • Culture & Archaeology

  • Sanskrit

  • Ancient History

  • Indology

  • Or allied subjects

OR

Option 2

• Postgraduate degree in relevant subject with:

  • UGC-NET/JRF qualification

  • Proven research experience related to:

    • Purāṇic Studies

    • Ancient Indian Polity

    • Historiography

    • Sanskrit Texts

Preferred Research Areas

Candidates having research exposure in the following areas will be preferred:

• Purāṇic Literature

• Ancient Indian Political History

• Sanskrit Textual Studies

• Historiography

• Indology

• Archaeology & Culture Studies
