Project Description

This research project focuses on investigating the prion-like properties of the potato SEUSS protein (StSEU) and its role in thermosensory responses. The project integrates:

  • Computational Biology

  • Molecular Biology

  • Yeast Assays

  • Transgenic Approaches

The study aims to understand heat stress adaptation and developmental plasticity in potato plants.


Job Role

The selected Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will assist in:

  • Experimental design

  • Routine laboratory work

  • Molecular biology experiments

  • Plant handling

  • Data analysis

  • Maintenance of laboratory records


Fellowship Details

Duration

Fellowship Amount

First 2 Years (JRF)

INR 37,000 per month + 18% HRA

Third Year (SRF)

INR 42,000 per month + 18% HRA

Fellowship will be provided as per DBT norms.


Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • JRF, NET, or GATE qualification

  • M.Sc. degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent)
