The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Government of India, located in Trombay, Mumbai, is inviting applications for Research Associate (RA) Fellowships. Fellowship Remuneration Levels

Selected candidates will be placed into one of three fellowship levels. The level will be decided by the interview committee based on the quality of the Ph.D. thesis, post-Ph.D. research experience (publications/products developed), and performance during the selection interview:

RA-I: INR 58,000/- per month + Contingency Grant of ₹60,000/- per annum + applicable HRA.

RA-II: INR 61,000/- per month + Contingency Grant of ₹60,000/- per annum + applicable HRA.

RA-III: INR 67,000/- per month + Contingency Grant of ₹60,000/- per annum + applicable HRA.

Research Fields & Eligibility

BARC is offering fellowships across 26 distinct R&D projects covering a wide array of specialized fields.

Academic Disciplines: Opportunities are available for candidates holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Physics, Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Biosciences, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Food Technology, and related areas. Specific projects also require B.Tech/M.Tech degrees in Electronics, Computer Science, and Information Technology.

Ph.D. Status: Scholars with a Provisional or Regular Ph.D. are eligible and will be treated at par with Research Associates. However, candidates who have only submitted their thesis and are still awaiting evaluation are not eligible for this fellowship.

How to Apply

Application Format: Candidates must apply using the prescribed application format provided by BARC.

Applying for Multiple Projects: Candidates must apply separately for each Research Project with a separate set of documents.

Required Documents: The application must include complete bio-data, a recent passport-size photograph, and one set of photocopies of mark-sheets, degree certificates (from SSC onwards), caste certificate (if applicable), work experience, and academic publications.

Submission Method: The duly filled-in application must be sent by post to: Deputy Establishment Officer, Recruitment-V, Central Complex, BARC, Trombay, Mumbai-400085. The envelope must clearly be superscribed with the specific Research Project Number. Applications received through email will not be accepted or considered.

Selection Process: Selection will be based strictly on an interview basis for screened-in candidates. Candidates called for the interview must bring all original documents and a valid photo identity card (such as AADHAR Card, Passport, Driving License, College ID, or Voter ID).
