The Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA) is officially inviting applications for the Future Leaders Program – 2026 Fall Edition.

This highly selective international initiative is designed for exceptional young professionals, researchers, and graduate students who are passionate about international relations, strategic policy formulation, and global security architectures. The program offers immersive exposure to foreign policy workflows, expert-led training modules, and deep analytical research pipelines.

The Future Leaders Program balances advanced policy research with practical diplomacy skills, focusing on several core strategic dimensions:

• Strategic Foreign Policy: Navigating fast-evolving geopolitical realities, bilateral relations, and global governance structures.

• Security & Defense Studies: Evaluating contemporary regional security frameworks, defense mechanisms, and conflict analysis.

• Regional Dynamics: Analyzing localized political, economic, and social frameworks with a specific emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe.

• Policy Analysis & Briefings: Training participants to draft high-impact policy briefs, white papers, and actionable intelligence reports for stakeholders.

🎓 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶??𝗲

Candidates must possess strong analytical foundations and demonstrate a high motivation for international leadership:

• Academic Background: Master's degree holders or Ph.D. candidates in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Public Policy, or allied social science disciplines.

• Language Proficiency: Complete fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for technical discourse and publication tracks.

• Core Competencies: Strong academic writing credentials, qualitative/quantitative research design skills, and a keen interest in institutional policy building.
