The The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) has invited applications for the prestigious position of IPR Chair Professor under a Government of India scheme.

Position Overview

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant must satisfy any one of the following:

Academic Route

• Served as or eligible for:

  • Professor / Associate Professor (as per UGC norms)

• Strong teaching & research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

Professional Route

• IP Attorney with:

  • Minimum 10 years of IPR practice, OR

• Any recognized professional with:

  • Significant contribution and 10+ years experience in IPR field

Government/Institutional Route

• Retired official from IP offices under CGPDTM with:

  • Doctorate degree

  • Minimum 5 years experience at Level 12 or above

  • Roles such as:

    • Controller of Patents & Designs

    • Registrar of Trademarks & GI

    • Registrar of Copyrights

Age Limit

Salary / Emoluments

Duration of Appointment

• Total duration: 3 Years

Roles & Expectations

• Promote research and pedagogy in IPR (Intellectual Property Rights)

• Contribute to academic development and policy discussions

• Strengthen IPR education and institutional initiatives

• Guide students and researchers in the IPR domain
