The research aims to rethink concepts of reproductive timing and fertility control by examining emerging "contragestive" technologies that may operate in the period between ovulation and early abortion.


About the Role

The Senior Research Assistant will contribute to research exploring the historical and philosophical dimensions of fertility control technologies and reproductive timing.

The role involves:

  • Investigating the historical development of reproductive technologies and concepts.

  • Examining biomedical, legal, ethical, and philosophical perspectives on fertility control.

  • Conducting interdisciplinary research on concepts such as:

    • Ovum

    • Conception

    • Implantation

    • Gestation

  • Contributing to publications, reports, and dissemination activities.

  • Collaborating with researchers across multiple institutions and disciplines.

  • Supporting public engagement and policy-oriented research activities.


Research Themes

The project addresses several critical questions, including:
