JNU Recruitment: Research Assistant & Field Investigator Vacancies Under ICSSR Major Project
The Centre for Women’s Studies, School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, has announced vacancies for temporary research positions. As outlined in the attached official document jnu-1.png, applications are open for an ICSSR-funded Major Research Project (2025–26) awarded to the Centre for the Study of Social Systems.
Project Overview
Project Title: "Cultural, Spiritual, Social, and Philosophical Significance of Vāhanas in Indian Temples: A Comprehensive Study in the Context of Hinduism."
Nature of Appointment: Purely temporary, co-terminus with the project duration, and extendable based on performance and project requirements.

Research Assistant | 01 Post 12 months (extendable) | Ph.D. in Women’s Studies or History, along with proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. | INR 37,000/- per month |
Field Investigators | 02 Posts 6 months (extendable) | Postgraduate degree in any Social Sciences discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, along with proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Tamil or Malayalam or Telugu or Kannada. | INR 20,000/- per month |
