The IIML EIC is hosted by the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow and is supported by NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The centre is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and startup development through incubation, research, and ecosystem-building initiatives.

Position Details

Role Overview

The Senior Research Fellow – Insights will be responsible for establishing a dedicated research and knowledge support system for IIML EIC initiatives. The selected candidate will create meaningful insights and practical tools for startups, ecosystem stakeholders, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Conduct research on emerging sectors, industry trends, funding dynamics, and innovation models relevant to the Indian startup ecosystem.

• Prepare research papers, whitepapers, reports, and knowledge documents.

• Develop frameworks to evaluate programme impact and startup performance.

• Design and execute surveys, case studies, impact assessments, and portfolio analyses of startups.

• Collaborate with various departments to integrate research insights into training content, case studies, and strategic initiatives.

• Generate data-backed insights for entrepreneurship and innovation programmes at IIML EIC.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

• A Master’s degree in:

  • Management

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Economics

  • Development Studies

  • Or related fields

Experience Requirements

• PhD with at least six years of work experience in research or consulting; or

• PhD (Pursuing) with at least five years of work experience.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Familiarity with startup ecosystem development and incubation programmes.

• Demonstrated experience in building knowledge assets and research outputs.

• Strong analytical, research, and report-writing capabilities.

• Experience in impact assessment, programme evaluation, and strategic research.
