The ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi, invites applications for the position of Project Research Scientist-II in the Division of Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Intermediate Grant project. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with expertise in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, and allied disciplines to contribute to cutting-edge research in functional foods and metabolic health.

The position is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis.

Project Details

Project Title:

"Indigenized Low-Cost Coconut Milk Based Low-Protein Diet – A Panacea for Metabolic Management of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM) in Organic Acidemias and Urea Cycle Disorders"

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Postgraduate Degree (including Integrated PG Degree) in:

    • Food Technology

    • Dairy Technology

    • Dairy Chemistry

    • Food Chemistry

    • Food Science & Technology

    • Food Science & Nutrition

    • Biochemistry

    • Allied disciplines

AND

  • Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience, or

  • Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.


Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Biochemical techniques

  • Biostatistics

  • Functional food research

  • High-impact research publications


Fellowship

  • INR 67,000 per month

  • 30% HRA

  • Total Monthly Emoluments: ₹87,100


Age Limit

As per the guidelines of the Funding Agency (ICMR).


Important Instructions

  • Candidates currently employed must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

  • Candidates should report to the venue by 10:00 AM on 3 July 2026 for document verification.

  • Bio-data in the prescribed format along with self-attested copies of educational certificates, mark sheets, Aadhaar/ID proof, passport-size photograph, and other relevant documents must be submitted.

  • A soft copy of the application may be emailed to the Principal Investigator on or before 1 July 2026.


Terms & Conditions

  • The appointment is purely contractual and co-terminus with the project.

  • Initial appointment will be for one year or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier, and may be extended annually based on satisfactory performance and project requirements.

  • The selected candidate will not have any claim for regular appointment at ICAR-IARI.

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on qualifications and experience and will appear for a Walk-in Interview on 3 July 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Division of Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology, ICAR-IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.
