Overview of Role

The Porter B. Byrum School of Business at Wingate University invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management beginning in August 2027.

Wingate is a teaching-focused institution serving over 3,600 students across two campuses. The department seeks an educator-scholar committed to high-impact teaching, meaningful scholarly publication, and collaborative university and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

  • Instructional Delivery: Teach undergraduate (in-person) and graduate MBA (hybrid) courses in:

    • Principles of Management

    • Organizational Behavior

    • Project Management and allied areas

  • Scholarship & Research: Maintain an active research agenda leading to scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Institutional Service: Actively engage in service to the School of Business, the University, the profession, and the broader community.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Requirements:

    • Ph.D. or DBA in Management (with at least 18 graduate credit hours in management) from an accredited institution (AACSB accreditation preferred).

    • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach across undergraduate and MBA curricula.

    • Strong communication skills and evidence of subject matter expertise through peer-reviewed publications.

    • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • ABD Candidates:

    • ABD applicants will be considered provided there is clear evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed within three (3) years of appointment.

    • ABD appointees will hold the rank of Instructor until completion of the doctoral degree.

  • Preferred Experience:

    • Practical business, consulting, or corporate experience alongside an active commitment to collaborative projects.
