Overview of Role
The Porter B. Byrum School of Business at Wingate University invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management beginning in August 2027.
Wingate is a teaching-focused institution serving over 3,600 students across two campuses. The department seeks an educator-scholar committed to high-impact teaching, meaningful scholarly publication, and collaborative university and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope
Instructional Delivery: Teach undergraduate (in-person) and graduate MBA (hybrid) courses in:
Principles of Management
Organizational Behavior
Project Management and allied areas
Scholarship & Research: Maintain an active research agenda leading to scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Institutional Service: Actively engage in service to the School of Business, the University, the profession, and the broader community.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. or DBA in Management (with at least 18 graduate credit hours in management) from an accredited institution (AACSB accreditation preferred).
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach across undergraduate and MBA curricula.
Strong communication skills and evidence of subject matter expertise through peer-reviewed publications.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
ABD Candidates:
ABD applicants will be considered provided there is clear evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed within three (3) years of appointment.
ABD appointees will hold the rank of Instructor until completion of the doctoral degree.
Preferred Experience:
Practical business, consulting, or corporate experience alongside an active commitment to collaborative projects.
