Academic Areas

Assistant Professor appointments are being considered against anticipated vacancies across all Teaching Departments of the University of Kerala.

Candidates should possess qualifications relevant to the concerned subject/discipline for which they intend to apply.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Master's Degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from:

  • An Indian University, or

  • An equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

• A relaxation of 5% marks is available to SC/ST candidates.

• Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for appointment as Assistant Professor.

OR

• Candidates possessing a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/relevant/allied subject may be considered as per applicable University/UGC norms.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with the following profiles may be particularly suitable:

• Strong academic record in the relevant discipline.

• Teaching and research experience in the concerned subject.

• Relevant research publications and academic contributions.

• Experience in university-level teaching, research or academic activities.

Applicants should refer to the detailed University notification for department-specific requirements, if applicable.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 50 Years as on 01 January 2026.

• Usual relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable to candidates belonging to:

  • SC

  • ST

  • OBC communities

as per applicable rules.

Remuneration

Selected Assistant Professors will receive:

INR 45,000 per month (Consolidated)

The appointment will be purely contractual.
