About the Position

The university seeks a scholar capable of representing the didactics of Economics–Politics/Social Sciences in both research and teaching. Applicants should possess a strong research profile and relevant academic publications, preferably connected with political science, sociology or economics. (Universität Bonn)

The selected professor will contribute to social-science degree programmes, particularly teacher-training programmes in Economics–Politics/Social Sciences for grammar and comprehensive schools and Economics/Politics for vocational colleges. (Universität Bonn)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in the didactics of Economics–Politics/Social Sciences.

• Teach across relevant social-science and teacher-training programmes.

• Cover the broad range of subject didactics within the discipline.

• Participate actively in academic administration.

• Contribute to the development of the new Institute of Sociology.

• Collaborate closely with the Bonn Center for Teacher Education and other teacher-education disciplines. (Universität Bonn)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

• A relevant university degree, preferably including teacher training.

• A doctorate in a relevant field.

• A habilitation or equivalent academic achievements in the didactics of Economics–Politics/Social Sciences.

• A strong research and publication record.

• Practical school-teaching experience, preferably supported by a second state examination or an equivalent qualification.

• Excellent teaching abilities and a strong commitment to academic education.
