Salary

The appointment will be made at one of the following levels depending on qualifications and experience:

  • Grade J: £43,482 – £50,253 per annum

  • Grade K: £50,253 – £58,225 per annum


About the Role

The University is seeking an outstanding academic who demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence in legal education, research, and student engagement.

The successful candidate will be appointed under Career Pathway 3 at either:

  • Profile Level B (Lecturer – Grade J), or

  • Profile Level C (Lecturer – Grade K)

depending on qualifications and experience.

The role is expected to commence from 1 September 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.


Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

  • Deliver lectures and seminars for Undergraduate (LLB) and Postgraduate (LLM) programmes.

  • Teach Corporate Law and contribute to at least one foundational law subject.

  • Design coursework, examinations, and alternative assessment methods.

  • Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations.

  • Provide constructive oral and written feedback to students.

  • Supervise undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and programme enhancement.

  • Participate in scholarly research and academic activities within the School.

  • Support the wider academic life of the Faculty.


Eligibility Criteria

The University welcomes applications from candidates who possess:

  • Strong expertise in Corporate Law.

  • Relevant legal practice and/or practice-focused teaching experience.

  • A demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching and student learning.

  • The ability to teach at least one foundational law subject in addition to Corporate Law.

  • Excellent communication, research, and academic leadership skills.
