Position Overview

The Institute of Political Science (ICP) at UC Chile invites applications for a full-time tenured Associate Professor position in Comparative Politics. Applications are welcomed from scholars across all research areas within the subfield.

UC Chile is one of Latin America's leading universities, renowned for its internationally recognized faculty, high-impact research, and strong undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programmes. The institute also hosts exchange students and visiting professors from around the world.

Teaching responsibilities are limited to three courses per year. While Spanish proficiency is expected, candidates willing to develop basic proficiency are encouraged to apply. Initial courses may be taught in English, and language training support is available.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in Comparative Politics.

• Teach up to three courses annually.

• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

• Contribute to departmental academic activities and research initiatives.

• Participate in international collaborations and scholarly engagement.

Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related discipline.

• Strong research record in Comparative Politics.

• Demonstrated teaching excellence.

• Willingness to achieve Spanish language proficiency (if not already fluent).
