The TreeSense Centre aims to transform global forest monitoring by combining:

The centre is supported by the Danish National Research Foundation and is associated with the FORSAID Project, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme.
Research Focus
The selected faculty member will contribute to research on:
Remote sensing of forests and woody ecosystems
Deep learning applications in environmental monitoring
Global tree mapping and ecosystem assessment
Carbon stock estimation and carbon sequestration
Tree physiology and forest dynamics
Forest degradation and disturbance monitoring
Climate change impacts on ecosystems
Biodiversity and sustainable forest management
The research aims to improve understanding of global tree resources using next-generation AI and satellite-based technologies.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Conduct high-quality research in remote sensing and deep learning.
Develop innovative AI models for forest and ecosystem analysis.
Publish research in leading international journals.
Contribute to externally funded research projects.
Supervise students and early-career researchers.
Participate in teaching and academic activities within the department.
Collaborate with national and international research partners.
