Essential Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Doctoral Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD in Humanities, Social Sciences, or a closely related discipline by the time the appointment begins.

Japanese and English Proficiency

Applicants must possess advanced proficiency in both Japanese and English, sufficient to undertake:

  • Academic research

  • University-level teaching

  • Administrative responsibilities

  • Institutional communication

Additional Language Requirement

Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to Northeast Asian Studies.

Relevant languages may include:
