Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) Recruitment 2026: Applications Invited for Assistant Professor of Law Positions

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), Tiruchirappalli, has invited applications from eligible and qualified candidates for the post of Assistant Professor of Law on a Contract/Ad Hoc basis. The appointments are initially for a period of one year and may be extended based on institutional requirements and performance.

Interested candidates must submit their applications on or before 30 June 2026.

Position Details

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must fulfil the qualifications prescribed under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations, 2018 for the post of Assistant Professor in Law.

Applicants should possess:

• A Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university.

• Qualification in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or State Eligibility Test (SET/SLET).

• Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations, 2009 or 2016 may be exempted from the NET/SET requirement, as applicable.

• Excellent written and communication skills in English.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Demonstrated ability in high-level academic research and writing.

• Publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

• Exposure to and interest in the management of learning difficulties.

• Prior teaching experience.

• Professional or field experience relevant to legal education and research.

• A strong commitment to enhancing the academic and research culture at TNNLU.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected candidates will be expected to:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate law courses.

• Engage in legal research and scholarly activities.

• Contribute to curriculum development and academic administration.

• Participate in institutional initiatives aimed at strengthening legal education and research.

• Support the University's academic and research objectives through teaching, publications, and professional engagement.
