The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at Rutgers University–Newark is accepting applications for Part-Time Lecturer faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in public and nonprofit management during the Fall 2026 semester.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

  • Instruction & Delivery: Prepare course syllabi and instructional materials; present lectures during scheduled class times across daytime, evening, weekend, or online formats.

  • Student Mentorship & Support: Hold regular office hours, provide out-of-class guidance, and respond promptly to student communications.

  • Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct fair and timely grading of course assignments, examinations, and projects; submit final semester grades within university deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Earned Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Public Administration or an affiliated academic discipline.

  • Practitioner Experience: Candidates holding a Master's degree must possess significant professional/practitioner experience in the public or nonprofit sectors.

  • Preferred Attributes:

    • Demonstrated evidence of past university-level teaching effectiveness (e.g., teaching evaluations).

    • Considerable administrative or executive leadership experience in public or nonprofit organizations.
