Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is established by the Parliament of India (Act No. 31 of 2020) as an Institution of National Importance pioneering national security and police education. The university serves as an academic-research-training ecosystem designed to deliver contemporary and futuristic security and strategic education in alliance with global security forces, civil services, and industrial frameworks.

Position Overview & Compensation

• Position: Assistant Professor

• Nature of Post: Contractual for an initial period of 364 days. Extensions up to two additional terms of 364 days each are possible, subject to university requirements, fund availability, and satisfactory annual performance.

• Monthly Remuneration: INR 92,239/- (Consolidated)

Core Responsibilities

• Academic & Training: Undertake high-quality teaching, research, training, extension, innovation, and consultancy workflows.

• Event Coordination: Organize workshops, customized short training programs, conferences, and seminars for stakeholders in national security.

• Research Output: Publish policy papers and reports on cutting-edge issues, and independently prepare and apply for separate research projects.

• Ecosystem Interaction: Interface and collaborate with internal and external agencies, including the armed forces, CAPFs, CPOs, SPOs, and private security industries.

• Administrative Duties: Act as Course Coordinator (managing financial and academic planning) and perform administrative or coordination duties assigned by School authorities.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

1. Education: Master's degree in Defence and Strategic Studies / Security Studies, or an allied field related to National Security, with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from an recognized Indian university or an accredited foreign university.

2. Eligibility Tests: Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC (like SLET/SET).

   • Exemption: Candidates with a Ph.D. awarded in regular mode (with conditions meeting external evaluation, open viva, and minimum 2 publications/presentations) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

   • Alternative: A Ph.D. degree from a university/institution ranked in the top 500 in the World University Rankings (QS, THE, or ARWU).

3. Preference: Weightage will be given to Ph.D. candidates possessing at least 02 years of post-qualification experience in an academic, University, or Institution of National Importance setting.

Desirable Criteria:

• Domain expertise in Defence Technologies, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems, Geographic Information System (GIS), Imagery Intelligence, European Studies, related area studies, or international organizations.

• Minimum of 01 publication in a peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journal.

• High proficiency in English, strong knowledge of MS Office, and ability to meet strict timelines.

• Prior active engagement in student extracurriculars (study tours, sports, cultural activities, NCC, etc.).
