About the Department

Founded in 1912, the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Peking University marked the beginning of philosophy as an academic discipline in modern China. In 1995, the University established China's first faculty dedicated to religious studies, administered jointly with the Faculty of Philosophy.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

Assistant Professor

  • A Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated research potential and promise in teaching.

Tenure-Track Associate Professor

  • Strong publication record and evidence of academic excellence.

  • Proven teaching effectiveness and research achievements.

Tenured Associate Professor and Professor

  • Internationally recognized research profile.

  • Significant scholarly contributions and publications.

  • Demonstrated academic leadership and mentoring experience.
