NCERT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Professor

  • Ph.D. in relevant discipline

  • Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience

  • 10 research publications in peer-reviewed journals

  • Research score of 120 as per UGC regulations

Associate Professor

  • Ph.D. in relevant discipline

  • Minimum 8 years of experience

  • 7 research publications

  • Research score of 75

Assistant Professor

  • Master’s Degree with 55% marks

  • NET / SLET / SET qualified or Ph.D. as per UGC norms

Librarian Posts

  • Master’s Degree in Library / Information Science

  • NET qualification as per UGC rules

  • Relevant experience (for Deputy Librarian)


NCERT Salary Structure (7th Pay Commission)

  • Professor: Level 14 – ₹1,44,200/-

  • Associate Professor / Deputy Librarian: Level 13A – ₹1,31,400/-

  • Assistant Professor / Assistant Librarian: Level 10 – ₹57,700/-
