The Department of Philosophy at Lund University is a research-intensive academic environment with approximately 70 staff members specializing in:

• Practical Philosophy

• Theoretical Philosophy

• Cognitive Science

The department is internationally recognized for its research in value theory, philosophy of action, social ontology, applied ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion. It also offers the renowned Practical Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) programme.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will:

• Deliver undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level teaching in Practical Philosophy

• Conduct high-quality research and publish in leading academic journals

• Supervise Master's and Ph.D. students

• Contribute to curriculum development and academic programme management

• Participate in departmental administration and academic leadership

• Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the department's teaching and research environment

Eligibility

Applicants should possess:

• A Ph.D. in Philosophy or a closely related discipline

• Strong research achievements in Practical Philosophy

• Demonstrated excellence in university-level teaching and student supervision

• Experience in curriculum development and academic leadership is desirable

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
