Kyoto University has announced applications for one Associate Professor position in the Department of Urban Management, Graduate School of Engineering. The position is exclusively open to female candidates and offers an opportunity to contribute to internationally recognized research and teaching in Structures Management Engineering.

Research & Teaching Areas

The selected candidate will work in Structures Management Engineering, with research areas including:

• Structural engineering of concrete, steel, and advanced materials

• Structural maintenance engineering

• Structural health monitoring and anomaly detection

• Civil infrastructure management

The successful candidate will also contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervise students, and participate in departmental academic and administrative activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be female candidates.

• Hold a doctoral degree or equivalent.

• Demonstrate an outstanding research record aligned with the department's mission.

• Possess the ability and enthusiasm to contribute to the International Course Program and departmental development.

• Be capable of teaching and mentoring students in structural engineering and related disciplines.

Courses to be Taught

The selected candidate may be involved in teaching courses such as:

• Fundamental Mechanics

• Structural Mechanics I and Exercises

• Computer Programming and Experiments on Structural Mechanics

• Structural Engineering for Civil Infrastructure
