Overview of Role

The School of Business & Leadership (SoBL) at Johnson University invites applications for an Assistant Professor position commencing in Spring 2027. The university seeks a dedicated Christian leader to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate Business Administration courses across multiple modalities, mentor students, support internship placement, and contribute to institutional life.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Instructional Delivery: Teach approximately four courses per term across multiple modalities and formats based on course credit hours and enrollment levels.

• Student Mentoring & Advising: Advise students on academic and career development, and actively assist students in securing internship opportunities.

• Campus Engagement & Service: Participate in university recruitment events, career fairs, extracurricular activities, and assigned institutional committees.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

• Required Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Business Administration from a regionally accredited university (specialization/concentration in Finance and/or Economics is strongly preferred).

• Teaching Experience: 2 to 5 years of higher education teaching experience.

• Professional Expertise: Experienced practitioner/scholar with demonstrable practical knowledge from organizational leadership.

• Pedagogical Skills: Proven ability to create interactive, participatory, and diverse learning environments.

• Institutional Alignment: Demonstrated commitment to supporting the mission, Statement of Faith, and practice of Johnson University (preference given to candidates affiliated with Christian Churches/Churches of Christ).
