The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is inviting online applications from Indian nationals belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS categories under a Special Recruitment Drive for the post of Assistant Professor across multiple departments and interdisciplinary academic areas.

The recruitment drive aims to fill backlog vacancies reserved under the applicable provisions of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019.

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline

• First Class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree

• Very good academic record throughout previous degrees

Appointment Conditions

For candidates with a fresh Ph.D., the appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for the first three years, with the possibility of regularisation thereafter.

Candidates possessing three or more years of post-PhD teaching, research or industrial experience may be considered for regular appointment, subject to institute norms.

Reservation

The Institute follows reservation provisions in direct faculty recruitment under the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Act, 2019.

This special recruitment drive is specifically intended to address backlog vacancies in reserved categories.
