The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) has invited applications from meritorious and energetic Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origins (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Foreign Nationals for various faculty positions across multiple disciplines.
Applications are invited for the positions of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor (Grade I & Grade II), Visiting Professor (on contract and deputation), and Retired Professors (on contract) for various academic programmes at the institute.

Assistant Professor Grade-I | Academic Pay Level 12 | INR 1,01,500 – INR 1,67,400 with minimum basic pay of INR 1,01,500 per month |
Assistant Professor Grade-II | Academic Pay Level 10 | INR 57,700 – INR 98,200 with minimum basic pay of INR 70,900 per month |
Career Progression
Assistant Professor Grade-I
Eligible for movement to Academic Level 13A1 (INR 1,31,400 – INR 2,04,700) after completion of three years of service, subject to:
Satisfactory performance
Recommendations of the Assessment Committee
Assistant Professor Grade-II
Initially appointed in Academic Level 10.
Will be moved to Academic Level 11 after completion of one year of post-Ph.D. experience.
May subsequently be promoted to Assistant Professor Grade-I (Academic Level 12) upon meeting minimum experience requirements and satisfactory performance criteria.
