Minimum Qualification
Candidates must possess:
A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline.
First class or equivalent in the preceding degree.
A consistently strong academic record.
The department-specific undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications prescribed in the official advertisement.

Experience and Pay Level
Assistant Professor Grade II
Candidates with less than three years of post-Ph.D. teaching, research or industrial experience may be considered.
Pay Level: Level 10 or Level 11 under the Seventh Central Pay Commission.
Assistant Professor Grade I
Candidates must possess at least three years of post-Ph.D. teaching, research or industrial experience.
Pay Level: Level 12 under the Seventh Central Pay Commission.

Age Requirement
Candidates should preferably be below 35 years of age as of the advertisement date.
