The ACBSP-accredited Header School of Business at Alvernia University invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor of Accounting and Assistant Professor of Management.

Housed in the renovated Reading CollegeTowne facility with dedicated Bloomberg Terminals and close ties to the O’Pake Institute for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, the School seeks dynamic scholar-practitioners who combine rigorous academic theory with real-world practice.

1. Assistant Professor of Accounting

• Target Credentials: CPA or Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution (candidates with significant and relevant field experience are also encouraged to apply).

• Teaching Scope: Deliver undergraduate and graduate accounting coursework across traditional day, accelerated adult, online, and hybrid modalities.

2. Assistant Professor of Management

• Target Credentials: Ph.D. in Management or a closely related field from an accredited institution (candidates with significant and relevant practitioner experience are also encouraged to apply).

• Teaching Scope: Deliver undergraduate (B.S. in Business Administration and Management) and graduate management courses across day, accelerated adult, online, and hybrid formats.

Key Responsibilities Across Roles

• Instructional Delivery: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses using high-impact practices such as experiential learning, service learning, action research, and innovative pedagogy.

• Student Mentorship: Provide comprehensive student advising, career mentoring, and project guidance.

• Scholarly Output: Maintain a defined research agenda with active scholarly publications or applied research contributions.

• Service: Participate in curriculum updates, program assessment, departmental development, and university governance aligned with Franciscan values.
