Rolling Advertisement – Recruitment of Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty & Professor of Practice

The National Institute of Technology Manipur invites applications from distinguished academicians, industry experts, and practitioners for engagement as Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, and Professor of Practice in various disciplines of Engineering, Sciences, Management, and Humanities.

This is a rolling advertisement – applications will be scrutinized quarterly.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: PhD / Postgraduate / Graduate in the relevant field from a Centrally Funded Institution (CFI) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
• Experience:
• Minimum 10, 12, or 15 years post-qualification experience, or
• At least 3 years in senior positions such as General Manager, Director, Technical Head, R&D Head, or Project Head in top organisations, top 100 corporates, or Scientist F level and above at ISRO, DRDO, or National Research Labs.
• Desirable Attributes:
• Proven record in product design and development, project-based R&D, patents, or technology transfer.
• Teaching experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level in CFIs.
• Supervision of student internships and projects.
• Funded collaborations with agencies, industry, or national laboratories.
• Publications in reputed SCI/WoS journals.
• Exposure to start-ups and entrepreneurial initiatives.
• Exceptional candidates not meeting all criteria but possessing significant achievements are encouraged to apply.

Upper Age Limit: 70 years

Remuneration and Tenure

Professor of Practice

• Appointment initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance.
• Professor of Practice: Consolidated monthly salary of ₹1,20,000 with an academic allowance of ₹20,000 (reimbursable).
• Associate Professor of Practice: Consolidated monthly salary of ₹1,00,000 with an academic allowance of ₹15,000 (reimbursable).
• Assistant Professor of Practice: Consolidated monthly salary of ₹80,000 with an academic allowance of ₹10,000.

Adjunct & Visiting Faculty

• Appointment for a tenure of 2 years.
• Professor: Honorarium of ₹5,000 per teaching hour, with a maximum of 5 teaching hours per day and up to 3 trips per semester. Monthly emoluments capped at ₹1,20,000. Academic allowance of ₹20,000 (reimbursable).
• Associate Professor: Honorarium as per hourly engagement, with an academic allowance of ₹15,000 (reimbursable).
• Assistant Professor: Honorarium as per hourly engagement, with an academic allowance of ₹10,000.
