Faculty Recruitment at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad: Special Drive for SC/ST/OBC-NCL Candidates

Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT-ISM) invites applications from Indian nationals under a Special Recruitment Drive (SRD) for faculty positions in Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor roles. This drive specifically targets SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories, including PwD candidates, across various academic departments.

  • Sciences: Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Mathematics & Computing, Physics.

Key Highlights of the Recruitment

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in the relevant field with a first-class or equivalent at the preceding degree.
  • Experience:
    • Assistant Professor (Grade-II): Less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
    • Assistant Professor (Grade-I): At least 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
    • Associate Professor: A minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 3 years as Assistant Professor.
    • Professor: A minimum of 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 4 years as Associate Professor.

Pay Scales (as per 7th CPC):

  • Assistant Professor Grade-II: ₹70,900 (Pay Level 10)
  • Assistant Professor Grade-I: ₹1,01,500 (Pay Level 12)
  • Associate Professor: ₹1,39,600 (Pay Level 13A2)
  • Professor: ₹1,59,100 (Pay Level 14A)

Additional Benefits:

  • Professional Development Allowance of ₹3 lakh per three-year block.
  • Research initiation grants of up to ₹20 lakh.
  • Lab setup grants of up to ₹30 lakh.
  • Collaborative research support of up to ₹1 crore.
  • Medical facilities, relocation allowance, children’s education allowance, and leave travel concession (LTC).
