Climate Trends invites applications for the Just Transition Fellowships. This initiative aims to support dedicated professionals in exploring, analyzing, and documenting the socio-economic impacts of India's ongoing energy transition from fossil fuels to clean and renewable energy sources.

About the Fellowship As India accelerates its shift toward renewable energy, it is imperative to ensure that this transition is equitable and just, particularly for communities historically dependent on the coal economy. The fellowship provides a platform for in-depth research, ground-level reporting, and policy analysis to highlight the human and economic dimensions of this shift.

Key Focus Areas Applicants are expected to submit proposals aligned with one or more of the following themes:

• Impact on Communities: Documenting the socio-economic effects of the clean energy transition on coal-dependent communities and their livelihoods.

• Policy Frameworks: Analyzing existing and proposed policies to ensure a fair and equitable renewable energy model.

• Green Economy: Assessing the development of green jobs, skill transition frameworks, and alternative economic opportunities.
