This special issue focuses on multimodal transport systems that are inclusive, low-carbon, and efficient. It highlights how integrating road, rail, air, and maritime transport can improve mobility efficiency, reduce emissions, and support equitable access to sustainable transport.
The call emphasizes the need for better modeling, evaluation, and governance of multimodal systems. It also welcomes work on AI, complex networks, system dynamics, carbon accounting, mobility-as-a-service, green mobility business models, and policy innovations that encourage low-carbon travel behavior.

Scope
The special issue invites original research and review papers on multimodal network design and optimization, AI for routing and demand forecasting, transport equity and access, sustainability metrics, renewable energy integration, carbon accounting, network theory, low-carbon technologies such as electric vehicles and hydrogen, charging and refueling infrastructure, and business models like mobility-as-a-service and carbon credit systems.
