November 2026 marks a decade since Donald Trumpโs first election to the U.S. presidencyโan era that has witnessed profound shifts in American politics and governance. During this period, scholars and practitioners have examined major political developments, including presidential impeachments, changes in the federal bureaucracy, electoral system challenges, evolving party dynamics, transformations in media ecosystems, and the unprecedented attack on the U.S. Capitol.
This Special Issue seeks to critically assess the most significant political developments of the past decade while exploring their implications for the future of American democracy, institutions, and political behavior. Contributions are invited from scholars across political science and related disciplines to provide fresh insights into continuity, change, and emerging trends in U.S. politics.

The past decade has been one of the most consequential periods in contemporary American political history. By bringing together diverse methodological and disciplinary perspectives, this Special Issue aims to deepen understanding of the forces reshaping American government and politics while identifying patterns that may define the next decade.
The issue encourages both retrospective analyses and forward-looking research that contributes to ongoing debates about democratic governance, political institutions, representation, and civic engagement.
