The Phygital Service Economy (PSE) for Transformative and Resilient Service Experiences
Journal: The Service Industries Journal
Manuscript deadline: 15 July 2026
This special issue explores the phygital service economy, where physical and digital realms combine to shape transformative, resilient service experiences for customers and employees. It emphasizes human-centric design, hybrid service environments, extended reality technologies, and the wider socio-economic and environmental effects of phygital integration.
The call highlights both practical and theoretical opportunities in service design, consumer behavior, employee engagement, leadership, and innovative research methods. It also encourages work that goes beyond technology adoption alone to examine how phygital systems influence well-being, adaptability, sustainability, and community impact.
Special Issue Editor
